As a Proposal Strategist, you will be a central part of Biobot’s Government Business and Commercial Sales teams, integral in pre-sale and post-sale activities. On any given day, we’re managing a formal proposal for a new contract, triaging post-sale contracting, or writing a white paper to catalyze new opportunities.

First, you will expand Biobot’s footprint with both Government and Commercial organizations by writing compelling proposals that win contracts. You will be responsible for ensuring prompt, compelling, and competitive response to all proposals and RFx’s.

Second, you will oversee all aspects of the contract negotiation and execution. You will be an internal domain expert & central source of knowledge for our commercial and leadership teams to gain increased visibility into our contractual relationships. This role will primarily support the commercial teams but will also interface cross-functionally to ensure proactive compliance and resolution of any identified risks.
Essential Responsibilities - Pre-Sale, Proposal Process
  • Write and negotiate various government contracting vehicles
  • Work with internal stakeholders to generate language explaining Biobot’s unique value proposition relative to the market overall
  • Serve as project manager for all proposal responses including: Owning proposal template, developing pricing template with guidance from deal lead, delegating construction of proposal sections, compiling relevant questions needing answers from the broader team and relay answers received from client, identifying and document risk in proposal responses, leading final review of proposal language before submission, conducting compliance on proposals before submission, and ensuring proposals are submitted in the correct format and on-time
  • Support development of white papers to guide prospective customers to our specific offerings
  • Draft task orders, statements of work, and produce support documentation for contracting officers

  • Be the primary reviewer of every customer & partner contract prior to review by legal counsel  (in collaboration with a commercial counterpart assessing the business terms)
  • Act as the primary interface with legal counsel during detailed review of contracts and negotiation to ensure that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly
  • Support the sales & partner teams in contract negotiation by highlighting areas of concern/risk and potential compromise solutions
  • Build an evolving list of “pre-approved” non-standard contract terms to streamline negotiating timelines
  • Support finance team to ensure accurate and efficient customer invoicing aligned with contract terms.
    • Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Evidence competing successfully on government proposals
  • 5+ years of proposal writing and contract management experience
  • Experience managing a fast paced work load
  • Strong communications (verbal and written) skills
    • Education and/or Work Experience Bonuses:
  • Knowledge of FAR or DFAR compliance
  • Knowledge of IDIQ, BPA, and GWAC contracts 
  • Knowledge of inter-governmental and multi-state cooperative agreements
  • Knowledge and past experience obtaining contract and funding vehicles
  • FAC-C (Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting) or equivalent experiences
  • Previous experience working in a public health or life sciences unit
    • Compensation Information
  • Base Salary: $100,000 to $150,000 depending on prior work experience. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position
  • The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills.
