The Role
As Associate Director of Patient Safety and Risk management, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of patient safety at Ro, as well as enhancing and implementing improvements to the patient safety reporting platform, Just Culture, appropriate policies and procedures and laying the foundation of patient safety risk management, in partnership with legal and other stakeholders. You will report to the VP of Quality and Safety, and work closely with several stakeholders including legal, clinical, technology and data. You bring significant experience in patient safety, risk management, awareness of the risk landscape in healthcare and digital health, as well as innovative approaches and out of the box thinking, to drive strategy, minimize risk and enhance patient safety on Ro’s platform as Ro scales.
What You’ll Do:
  • You will be responsible for leading day to day management and oversight of patient safety reports and related platforms, policies and procedures and training
  • You will be responsible for event and good catch response reporting, investigation, escalation and trending
  • You will drive the strategy for enhancing and scaling patient safety and minimizing risk, with existing and new services and products on Ro platform
  • You will collaborate closely with technical teams to drive systemic improvements and solutions
  • You will establish rapport with leadership as a subject matter expert on patient safety and risk
  • You will establish methods to learn from industry and pave the way for Ro to become the industry leader in patient safety
  • Successful Associate Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management will be a thought leader that will influence strategy and company culture to drive safe care, and minimize the risk to the company
  • You will work closely with other teams such as technology, clinical partners and partner companies acquired by Ro, to establish end to end reporting processes, find innovative solutions and implement data driven decisions to enhance patient safety
    • What You’ll Bring:
  • Nursing or other healthcare/legal background such as RN, NP, Pharm D, JD  or related
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in patient safety and risk management
  • One or more of the following: Legal experience, lean certification, CPHRM, CPHQ, CPPS, HCQM, CHQ, CHSP, PMP or similar certifications or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with third party patient safety organization(s), Just Culture implementation and industry standard patient safety expectations, and using data to advance healthcare safety and delivery
  • 5+ years of direct experience managing safety events and trending, EMRs and technology to deliver healthcare in multiple settings (such as outpatient, stand alone clinics, telehealth) as well as identifying and mitigating potential concerns for patient safety and/or risk proactively
  • 2+ years of doing this work in the digital health setting is strongly preferred
  • Strong track record of making tough prioritization decisions
  • Adept at learning new technology and can thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment

    • The target base salary for this position ranges from $157,250 to $194,500, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.

    Ro recognizes the power of in-person collaboration, while supporting the flexibility to work anywhere in the United States. For our Ro’ers in the tri-state (NY) area, you will join us at HQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For those outside of the tri-state area, you will be able to join in-person collaborations throughout the year (i.e., during team on-sites).
