Commercial Contract Manager

What you'll be doing:

The Commercial Contract Manager is responsible for coordinating and project managing workflows
to get new contracts, amendments, and NDAs associated with commercial operations reviewed,
updated, and executed with maximum efficiency and accuracy, as quickly as possible. Goals include
decreasing the contracting stage time, increasing consistency across commercial contracts,
improving contracting process coordination and coordinating with our legal partners to drive
prioritization and velocity.

Some of the things you'll be doing include:

• Maintaining overall prioritized list of commercial contracting asks from legal
• Tracking outstanding questions or issues on top priority commercial contracting asks along
with assigned owner, status, and timeline
• Reviewing customer comments on internal contracts or other legal documents, determining
what internal stakeholder needs to engage on the question, and assigning them the task of
answering the question
• Reviewing customer contract documents, identifying key questions to be answered, and
assigning the correct internal stakeholder to answer that question
• Working closely with cross-functional teams at resolve outstanding questions on top priority
asks
• Creating and tracking visibility into average time to execution for priority asks and other
contracting metrics
• Determining and implementing process improvements to increase how contracts or other
legal documents are processed, tracked, and executed
• Learning and/or using Sword’s contract management software, training other stakeholders
on its use, and reporting on documents processed in it.
Who you are...
• As this role interfaces directly with many different departments, you will need to have a
well-rounded set of skills.
• Experienced: You have 4+ years experience demonstrating success managing complex
projects from start to finish across multiple stakeholders, ideally in a commercial context
• Experience reviewing legal documents or other technical documents with a critical eye and
attention to detail
• An assertive personality and a drive to move uncertain stakeholders or questions to
resolution and decisions

• Demonstrated ability to track and report on tasks across multiple stakeholders on a
transparent and recurring basis
• A+ listening ability and the ability to understand what cross-functional stakeholders are not
only saying but mean based on what function they occupy, their experience in the company,
and their understanding of the situation
• Excellent Communication. Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
along with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building are a must
• Impact oriented. Understand the appropriate balance between planning and acting; willing to
act in a dynamic and changing environment without perfect information and adjust along the
way with a bias for action
• A True Team Player. Curious, strong team player with a track record of cross functional
collaboration. Some working knowledge of business, finance, legal, sales, sourcing, and
procurement, etc. will be very helpful.
