Pendulum ® is on a mission to help people improve physical and mental health by creating a new category of products that target the microbiome. Pendulum is seeking a Corporate Controller responsible for oversight of accounting and controllership activities related to GL accounting, A/R, A/P, payroll, taxes, and audit. The Corporate Controller will design and execute best-in-class strategies, accounting processes, controls, incorporating critical thinking to drive operational performance and leading the Company's focus on fiduciary responsibilities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of accounting, including implementation of processes and internal controls necessary for GAAP standards, and develop and scale the organization for growth
  • Oversee the monthly financial close process
  • Ensure the development and adoption of strong accounting policies and procedures that comply with best practices
  • Collaborate with Finance operations to drive continuous improvement in internal control processes related to SOX, IPO readiness, and other statutory compliance programs
  • Own relationship with external auditors and be responsible for quarterly and annual audits
  • Provide guidance on relevant domestic and international regulations and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Act as a lead of the upcoming ERP implementation in coordination with Finance and IT
  • Take a lead on IT systems and resources to design, build, and implement accounting processes at scale and develop efficiency and scalability across functional areas
  • Cultivate ongoing training and talent development to create a culture of learning and mentorship
  • Key liaison for deliverables to Audit Committee
    • Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior accounting position in a growing company from a relevant industry (biotech, manufacturing); prior experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm is preferred
  • 4+ years of experience managing a team
  • Exceptional business acumen and proven success in driving significant process implementations
  • and improvements
  • Deep experience with best practices related to areas of revenue recognition, fixed assets, cost accounting, payroll, tax, and compliance with GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and ability to identify and recommend new changes to controls
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment where adaptability is imperative
  • Extraordinary organizational skills, with high attention to detail and focus on accuracy and accountability
